Supporting academic achievement through athletics
The Mission of Scholar Athletes is to improve academic achievement through athletics. This focus is based on the proven link between athletic participation and positive academic performance.
We strive to enhance the scholar-athlete experience, provide regular instruction to the coaching staff, and improve academic performance and personal growth. These collaborative efforts build skills, confidence, shape character, and enhance opportunities for success. Together we play to achieve!

Back to School
Fall is here and we're working to build expectations for achievement on the field and in the classroom. Our goal is to set the tone for the year with our scholar athletes and partners, so come June we are graduating well-rounded students with post-secondary plans.
We kicked off back to school with a Service Day Jamboree in partnership with Team Suffolk, and a Leadership Breakfast in the BSA Zone at Excel High School. Stay tuned for other exciting opportunities that are preparing our students for success!
On Friday, October 24th SSA gathered with Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Superintendent Daniel Warwick, Principal George Johnson, SA Chairman John Fish, and the wonderul community of Springfield to celebrate the launch of our Zone at Zone Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy. We couldn't be happier with the success of the program so far and are excited with the opportunity to impact more scholar-athletes in Springfield with our proven model!
Putnam students and SSA Zone members, Jonathan Garcia and Kiana Figueroa did an incredible job emceeing the event. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our organization and the school community! Press from this event and others is available here.
